WORKING POLICIES

Scientific services policies.

Practical ground rules for inquiries, estimates, scientific deliverables, data stewardship, computing expenses, and research uncertainty.

These are general service policies. A project-specific statement of work or written agreement establishes the controlling scope, confidentiality requirements, intellectual-property rights, deadlines, pricing, and approved computing environments.

Inquiries and first consultation

Initial inquiry is free and must not contain confidential research or proprietary molecular structures. A $100 initial consultation covers one hour of professional time, ordinarily fifteen minutes of preliminary review and forty-five minutes of discussion, plus a brief next-steps recap. Detailed feasibility research beyond that scope is quoted separately.

Estimates, authorization and scope changes

Scientific labor is ordinarily billed at $100 per hour in fifteen-minute increments, subject to the approved scope. Project estimates describe assumptions, work, expected deliverables, computing needs, and a spending limit. Charges beyond the approved limit require client authorization. Material changes to methods or deliverables may require a revised statement of work.

Computing costs

Third-party GPU compute and explicitly approved external storage or transfer charges are billed at actual documented cost without markup. Locally supplied compute uses the cost-recovery rate identified in the approved scope. Compute estimates depend on molecular system size, method, hardware, and runtime; the final charge is based on incurred authorized usage rather than an unused contingency budget.

Materials, ownership and permissions

Clients must be authorized to provide their data and scientific materials. Client-provided materials remain theirs. Ownership and usage rights in newly prepared analyses, software, models, documents, and deliverables are determined in the project agreement; no general transfer of pre-existing tools or software is implied.

Confidentiality and third-party services

Confidentiality terms and approved hosting or compute providers are agreed before exchanging sensitive files. No proprietary customer dataset is intentionally sent to volunteer-operated computers, external AI systems, or third-party computing services unless the client has approved the relevant arrangement. General third-party tools may process routine website inquiries subject to their own policies.

Data retention and delivery

Deliverable contents, transfer method, retention period, and any storage charges are specified in the scope. The ordinary planning baseline is delivery of agreed results with temporary retention of up to 20 GB for approximately 30 days, unless a project requires different terms. Clients are responsible for maintaining their own long-term backups after delivery.

Use of AI and automation

Automation and AI may assist with routine analysis, literature organization, workflow design, and drafting. Scientific conclusions and project deliverables remain subject to human review. Confidential client data will not be submitted to unapproved AI services.

Scientific limitations

All computational models involve approximations. Docking poses, scoring values, dynamics trajectories, and inferred interactions are hypotheses and evidence within stated models, not guaranteed experimental outcomes. No assurance is made of binding affinity, biological activity, clinical benefit, journal acceptance, or commercial success.

Website contact and third-party inquiry option

The research inquiry form sends the information you enter to Web3Forms, a third-party processing service, which forwards it to our designated email address. Web3Forms is configured for 30-day submission retention; email copies may be retained separately under our normal business records practices. The alternative TowleVision Tally inquiry link also uses a third-party service. Do not submit proprietary structures, sensitive datasets, or other confidential materials through either initial channel. You may contact us directly by email instead.
